It's interesting to think about how we subconsciously build on the idea of color, assigning it emotions or associating it with times of year. It's easy to do when you think about where we see certain colors in the world. These past couple of months we've looked at how color affects our environment, our mood and our homes. This May, we will continue to address this and the other associations we make with color. This month, our focus will be on GREEN and how it can connect us to the natural world, how it can increase our productivity and the vital role it plays in our diets. When it comes to the natural world, green is the foundation of its beauty. Because of this, we often use green to represent personal growth, harmony, energy and feeling refreshed. But since green is nature's color, its energizing properties are different than that of bright colors like yellow and orange. Green calms and focuses the mind, providing optimism, encouragement and motivation. Incorporating green into your home or office can make you feel more connected with nature and boost your productivity. Another important way to add green into your life is through your diet! Green foods are essential to our health and a strong immune system. They are rich in essential nutrients like magnesium, potassium, calcium and vitamins E, C, K and B. So eat your greens! Décor & EntertainingDo you have a space that is feeling stagnant and flat? Want your aesthetic to feel more natural and alive? You need more green! Adding green accents can create a pop of energizing color without being overwhelming. We recommend everyone incorporate house plants into their homes, especially kitchens, offices and bedrooms! Plants not only purify the air but they create dimension and pull together a room. By channeling the natural world in your décor, you can create a space that fuels your mind, calms your body and makes you feel more alive! Some of our favorite low-light, low-maintenance plants include: Philodendron, Snake Plants, ZZ Plants, and Peperomia (safe for pets!). HERE is a guide to picking out the perfect houseplant for your lifestyle!
