Although we cannot host wedding ceremonies or receptions, we are happy to be a part of everything from engagement photos, pre or post wedding activities for family and friends to a romantic honeymoon destination.

One of the favorite calls we receive at the Secret Garden is from an elated future-groom looking for some help coordinating his proposal to his soon-to-be bride. There is nothing more exciting than waiting for the big moment and watching the new bride-to-be glow with happiness as she shows off her new ring. Between our gorgeous grounds here at the Secret Garden and the unbeatable views from the sky deck up at the Brys Estate winery, it might be difficult to choose the best proposal spot. But not to worry, we are here to help!

 Enjoy a day at Brys Estate! There is so much to do here for bridal parties or family activities before and after the wedding. Stop by the tasting room or our deck above the vines and enjoy a glass of one of our international award winning wines. Next, head down the hill to visit us at the Secret Garden! Do some shopping, pick fresh, pesticide-free blueberries and strawberries or cut your own flowers and lavender bundles to take home. Snack on tasty baked goods or bring your own picnic. Perfect for a relaxing outing with family or friends.

Decorative Lavender

Our 2018 dried lavender stock is currently sold out, but not to worry! We are now taking pre-orders for our 2019 lavender crop. It is estimated that the dried bundles will be ready to go in August of this year, so reserve yours while you can! These bundles are completely dried and preserved so no need to worry about keeping your table decor watered, spilled vases or wilting flowers. With the sweet, gentle aroma of lavender, everyone is sure to stay calm and relaxed on your exciting day. If you're getting married in late summer, use fresh lavender in your wedding! 
Forget the rice! Throw dried lavender buds at your wedding! Not only will this provide a gorgeous photo op, it's also environmentally friendly! The traditions of throwing rice at weddings can be traced back to the Romans. Throwing rice is meant to symbolize rain which is a sign of prosperity, fertility and good fortune for the new couple. And although the previously claimed idea that ingesting grains of rice is harmful to unsuspecting birds has been disproven, we feel that lavender is so much more vibrant and colorful than rice. We could all use a little lavender rain!

At the Secret Garden we do our best to see the value in the world around us. This means being mindful of our actions toward others, respecting the Earth and not being wasteful. We try to incorporate recycled elements into our products to give objects a new life. In the past, we have had the pleasure of turning some very special items into something that their owner can cherish forever. Do you have sentimental  items such as a vintage piece of clothing, tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs, doilies, or something similar? Let us turn them into something that will last forever! From lavender sachets, decorative pillows or ring bearer pillows, we can work with you to create a special "something old" and "something new"!

Honeymooning at Brys Estate

Look no further for your romantic and relaxing honeymoon destination! While staying in the Brys Estate private guesthouse, you won't need to go far to enjoy some quality wine tasting, berry picking, beach time and incredible views. Experience what it's like to sleep among the vines in our Brys Estate guesthouse! This 2-bedroom, 2-bath, fully renovated vintage barn, features a full kitchen, dining and great room combination. Just picture this. Waking up among the vines, drinking your morning coffee on the front porch as you gaze out past the thriving vineyard to see a blue, shimmering East Grand Traverse Bay. Start your day with a short walk down to the Secret Garden. Pick strawberries, blueberries, lavender or flowers from our perennial garden. Enjoy a sweet treat of cookies, ice cream or lemonade under the umbrellas on the patio. Stroll among the lavender and perennial gardens and read the inspirational signs used as row designations. Doze off on the porch in one of our rocking chairs as you breathe in the sweet lavender scent. Finish your day at the Brys Estate tasting room, sampling some of our award-winning wines paired with a cheeseboard atop our bridge above the vines. Could it get any better?!
